New components, blocks, and a Figma update has been shipped! 🚀
Hey everyone 👋
Since our Product Hunt launch I promised that I'll come back to you with an update on what we've been working on. We ended up being #3 and we thank every one of you for your support!
In this email, I will introduce the new components, block sections, and the Figma updates that we've provided in the last two months.
Let's get started!
Figma Design System community edition
One of the most exciting updates is that we have open-sourced and posted the basic and free components from the Flowbite library on the Figma Community page.
The library has evolved a lot since our initial launch and we believe that every designer and developer deserves to at least give it a try how is it to work with Flowbite's Figma to code workflow!
The pro version's Figma design system will still have a lot of advantages compared to the free one, including hundreds of advanced components, sections, and pages.
Either way, from today you can duplicate the free design system from the Figma Community website.
Flowbite Pro's Figma file update to v2.3.0
Just because we open-sourced some parts of the Figma design system does not mean we haven't been busy developing the one purchased by the pro users.
We brought many new updates including brand new Application UI blocks, components, variants for CRUD layouts, faceted searches, filters, sortings, and some new widgets.
The next update will close the circle for the Application UI layouts by also bringing fully-fledged pages and layouts based on the building blocks that we're now wrapping up.
All pro users can access the new update in the downloads section of their account after logging in.
If you haven't grabbed it yet, you can by purchasing the Designer or Developer edition.
Flowbite v1.5.4 - New speed dial component
The v1.5.4 update for the Flowbite Library brought not only improvements to the modal component, which now closes by default when clicking on the backdrop, but also brought a brand new speed dial component that you can use as a menu for the user.
This type of component is used by companies like Twitter, Gmail, Crisp (support chat) for a quick way to show a user menu or actions when clicking on an sticky positioned button.
New Application UI blocks
One month we started releasing new block sections for the Application UI category including sidebars, navigation bars, footers, and lots of CRUD layouts.
You should expect lots of updates in the next few months for this UI category and as many of you have asked us, next year in January we will also start working on the E-commerce UI layouts and templates.
What next?
We have been working overtime and the community has been doing an awesome job developing the Flowbite React, Flowbite Vue, Flowbite Svelte, and Flowbite Angular libraries.
It is the first time when we hired two developers from the community to help us integrate our dashboard layout into React and also to help us develop the blocks faster.
In the next newsletter edition, we will feature community members as well who have been the most active.
As for the Flowbite ecosystem we have big plans for next year, not only bringing the pro version into the other technology stacks but also releasing new UI categories, templates, integrations, and even some exciting tools!
Cheers,
Zoltán from Flowbite
